Yvette Delgado
Chief Energy Officer, Legacy Starts with Purpose · Community Champion · Connector
Some people walk into a room and fill it. Yvette Delgado walks into a room and connects everyone in it. That distinction is everything.
Yvette calls two places home: New York City and Carolina, Puerto Rico. But ask her where her heart lives, and she will tell you Puerto Rico, without hesitation. “It keeps drawing me back because of my roots, the history, the food, the music, and the people,” she says. “Their culture will make everyone feel like family and their resilience feels like inspiration to many.”
Today, Yvette serves as Chief Energy Officer of her purpose and impact venture – Legacy Starts with Purpose (LSP), through which she supports several high impact brands, including MogulMoxie®. The 2026 MogulMoxie Women’s History Month Series is one of the many rooms she has helped build. We are grateful for her.
What Grounds Her
The content of this article is drawn from Yvette’s written interview, and reading through her words, what comes shining through is people. The village she has deliberately built, faithfully tended, and poured herself into without reservation. When the ground shifts, she seems like someone who does not reach for a practice or a principle. She reaches for her tribe.#MogulMoxie
On Community as Strategy
Ask Yvette about the strategy that has shaped her growth and she will not give you a framework. She will tell you about people.
“My greatest growth has come from the people who encouraged me, challenged me, and reflected my strength back to me when I couldn’t see it myself,” she says. “It’s so true: it takes a village.”
One mentor in particular stands out. “One of my greatest mentors, Mr. Oliver, taught me, ‘teach one to lead one,’” she says, “and that wisdom continues to shape how I grow and how I lead. I rise because of the people who pour into me, and I carry their lessons forward in everything I do.”
This philosophy is not just something Yvette talks about. It is how she spends her days. A day in her life, she says, “feels like an adventure.” What makes it enjoyable is “serving the community, connecting, and watching others step into their greatness.” She describes it simply: “I’m all about creating a space where everyone feels welcome, valued, and seen. That’s the magic of my day.”
Her Advice to a Woman Just Starting Out
When asked what advice she would give a woman just starting out, Yvette is clear.
“Protect your circle.”
“Surround yourself with people who carry light,” she says, “the ones who speak life into you, who challenge you with love, who remind you who you are when you sometimes forget. The right people don’t just walk with you; they lift you. So make sure you protect your circle.”
For a woman who has built her life around connecting people and nurturing community, this is an invitation to be intentional about who you let close once the connection is made.
Her Moxie
For Yvette, moxie is resilience. Full stop.
“It comes from my culture,” she says, “from people who rise no matter what, who hold onto joy even in the mess, and who know that things will work out at the end.”
That is what moxie looks like when it is quiet, steady, and deeply held. It is not loud. It does not need to be. It simply refuses to stop.
