Six continents. Dozens upon dozens of cities around the US and the world.
One conviction: Women’s stories need to be heard.
Twenty-two years ago, I was walking along the Great Wall of China with a camera, a sense of wonder, and a quiet certainty that the world That journey carried me across six continents, through dozens upon dozens of cities in the US and across the world, and into conversations with women who expanded my understanding of courage, resilience, faith, and freedom. What I knew from the beginning: Every woman I met had a story worth telling. And the world needed to hear them.
I hope you enjoy this series as much as I enjoyed curating it for you. ∼ TC Cooper, Founder of MogulMoxie® Mindset.
“She who controls the narrative shapes the future.”
This is the editorial conviction at the heart of MogulMoxie®. It's the reason this series exists.
Why MogulMoxie® Mindset?
The word mogul traces back to the Mughal Empire, one of the most powerful dynasties in world history, which ruled much of South Asia from the sixteenth century through the nineteenth, leaving an indelible mark on art, architecture, governance, and culture. It became shorthand for immense power and influence. (For more on its origins, see Merriam-Webster: merriam-webster.com/dictionary/mogul.)
For too long, word has been reserved for a narrow category of women: the ones with the titles, the corner offices, the net worth that makes headlines. We are here to say category has always been too small.
Within every woman lives the energy of the mogul. She creates life, culture, community, safety, beauty, and meaning. She builds economies of care that the world depends on and rarely counts. She moves things, quietly or loudly, whether or not anyone is watching. The mogul is the force she exerts in the world. The moxie is the innate fire that keeps her moving when everything pushes back.
About This Series
Every few years, MogulMoxie dedicates Women’s History Month to celebrating women who are living on their own terms, sharing earned wisdom, defying odds, and showing up fully and without apology. This year, we are bringing you one phenomenal woman a day through March and beyond.
They come from the DMV, Brooklyn, Puerto Rico, and Texas. And from places that require a passport: Portugal, Mexico, Thailand, and beyond. Some are expats who planted new roots in foreign soil. Some are digital nomads who traded a fixed address for a wider world. And some have never needed to go far, because they built something profound right where they are. Their neighborhoods know their names. Their communities carry their fingerprints. Their impact does not require a flight.
Whether the woman you are about to read about runs a government agency, relocated to Lisbon, is building her first business from a laptop in Thailand, or has spent her entire life pouring into the same community and would not trade it for anything She has moxie. And her story belongs here.
They lead federal agencies, manage remote teams, style hair, bake pound cakes, and pursue PhDs. They have survived cancer diagnoses, military deployments, career reinventions, and very public failures. They have stood in rooms that were not built for them, and they stood anyway. And every single one of them will leave a mark on you, if you let her.
Made Possible by Community
This series would not exist without Yvette Delgado, Director of Outreach and Operations at UpwardAction® Advisory, and a champion of women in every sense of the word. Yvette is a connector. She builds community, supports others in doing the same, and sees beyond the obvious to connect the dots that most people miss. We are grateful for her leadership, and she’s first up in our Women’s History Month series.
My Hope for You
My hope is that you see yourself somewhere in these pages and know you are not alone. That you are inspired to be more of yourself, fully and unapologetically. And that you walk away curious enough about what lies beyond your comfort zone to actually go out and see it.
Welcome to the
2026 Women’s History Month Edition of MogulMoxie
Celebrating the Moxie of Women Around the World
This series was created for you. Intentional and authentic. These are real women, in real lives, navigating lives in full. Some are at the top of their fields. Some are still climbing. Some walked away from the top because the view from there did not match who they were becoming. They have all chosen to live with intention rather than permission, and they are willing to tell you the truth about what this has cost them and what it has given them.
The gift of this series is revelation.
Read slowly. Take notes. Let their stories sit with you. When you see yourself in one of them, or feel the quiet stir of something you had nearly convinced yourself to abandon, pay attention. This is your moxie, making itself known.
Now, let us introduce you to some phenomenal women, starting with Yvette Delgado, Chief Energy Officer of Legacy Starts with Purpose™. Click to read her story.
