In July 2024, I became the first Puerto Rican to be inducted in the Space Camp Hall of Fame after 28 years of my participation in Space Camp (as a 10th grader from a small town in Puerto Rico). Back in 1996, my family did not have the financial resources to pay for my trip, so I sold chocolates, cakes, and my parents sold "bacalaitos" in the town's Christmas festival. This recognition was a full circle moment for my family and me, and a testament to my journey as a young humble girl with big dreams. My nomination was sent by a former co-worker from my time as a NASA intern, a friend I've maintained for more than 20 years.

Spotlight: Christie Peters

Some people you find on social media and forget by the next scroll. Christie Peters is not one of those people. She left a full life in Atlanta to answer a call she could not ignore. Today she is based in Coimbra, Portugal, guiding Americans through one of the most significant transitions of their lives, moving abroad. Her story is about what happens when a woman bets on herself completely, trades the familiar for the unknown, and discovers that the life on the other side is bigger than the one she left behind. In this feature, Christie shares what grounds her faith, what she believes about women and power, and what she wants every woman quietly dreaming of something different to know. Her candor and conviction will stay with you long after you finish reading.

Spotlight: Carla Bell

Meet Carla Bell, Founder of the Say YES Conference, based in Alexandria, Virginia. This year's Women's History Month Series is built around one principle: Women's stories, in our own words. Carla Bell is a federal leader by day and a movement builder by night. She launched the Say YES Conference before the tickets sold, before the room was guaranteed, and before anyone could promise it would work. She moved anyway. Her story is one of faith, fortitude, and building in alignment with purpose. Her quote says it best: "Ambition is not about ego. It's about obedience to the assignment." Read her full story in her own words.

Read her story in the MogulMoxie 2026 Women's History Month Series.
